The Spinning Jenny has reached a new milestone, being named Number 1 on Greenville’s 10 Best Places to Hear Live Music. Brett Barest writes, “The space comfortably holds 500 music lovers and brings in nationally known acts like Donna the Buffalo, Drivin’ and Cryin’, and the Wood Brothers. The room is spacious, the acoustics are excellent, and its the perfect venue for those that long for the days of the Handlebar or even Asheville’s Orange Peel.”
The Spinning Jenny has also hosted Rhiannon Giddens and Kings X. And don’t forget, WinterSkunk Fest happens this weekend, featuring two days of incredible music. We’ve also got Asleep at the Wheel String Band with Kyle Petty and David Childers coming on Mar. 1st and Chatham County Line is having a CD release show on Mar. 30th.
We’re thrilled to be honored as the best place to see live music in Greenville, but The Spinning Jenny is so much more than a great place to hear live music. The spacious, floating maple wood floor and great sound system make The Jenny the perfect venue for dancing. And did you know that The Spinning Jenny regularly holds dance classes? We just had one on Feb. 2, and there are more scheduled for Feb. 15, Feb. 16, Mar. 2, Mr. 15, Apr. 6, and Apr. 19. Each of these dance sessions includes a period of dance instruction followed by a time to cut loose and dance with the other people in your class. Tickets for each class are available at the door.
We’ve also got some more “unique” entertainment experiences lined up. Boxing at the Depot will be hosting the 2019 South Carolina Golden Gloves at The Jenny on Feb. 22-23, and The Columbia Marionette Theater will be performing its production of the classic fairy tale “Cinderella” on May 25. This is a great show for the whole family.
The Spinning Jenny is also available to rent for weddings, birthday parties, corporate parties, quinceañeras, or any kind of private event or celebration you want to hold. The Jenny boasts a beautiful room complete with chandeliers and a 12.5-foot high tin paneled ceiling that gives the room the kind of ambience you can’t get with a typical hotel conference room.
Many thanks to Brett Barest for writing such a generous review of the Spinning Jenny for 10best.com. It’s a genuine honor to be named the best place to see live music in Greenville, but we’re working hard to make The Spinning Jenny the best venue for any kind of event.
We want to say thank you to all of our customers. When you come and see the shows and rent the room for your weddings and other private events, you are the ones making The Jenny successful. Thank you!
